About Tom Fogerty
American musician, Thomas Richard Fogerty was the rhythm guitar player for the rock band named Creedence Clearwater Revival. His interest in rock and roll started when he was a high school student, His younger brother liked music too but they did not join the same bands at the beginning.
Career
Tom, together with Jeremy Levine and others were part of the group “Spider Webb and the Insects”. They signed a contract to record with Del-Fi Records but in 1959, before they had any chance to record any of their compilations, the band fell apart.
He went on to join the band “The Blue Velvets” and together, they released three singles. The band's name was changed to Creedence Clearwater Revival. In 1971 he decided to go solo and released a few singles including “Goodbye Media Man” and “Joyful Resurrection”. His self-titled album made it to the Billboard 200 chart at number 78.
Death
In the 1980’s, he had back surgery. Unfortunately, the blood infused in him belonged to someone who had AIDS so he contracted the disease. He later had tuberculosis and the complications from all these resulted in his death in September 1990.
