About Vojislav Šešelj
Serbian politician and lawyer, Vojislav Šešelj is known as the founder and president of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS). He also became deputy prime minister of Serbia between 1998 and 2000.
Family
He was married to Vesna Mudreša. After his divorce, he married Jadranka Šešelj in 1992. He was the father of four children.
Education
He studied undergraduate law at University of Sarajevo in 1973 and postgraduate law at the University of Belgrade in 1976.
Career
Šešelj formed the anti-communist party, Serbian National Renewal (SNO) together with Vuk Drašković and Mirko Jović in late 1989. In 1990, he formed another party, the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) with Drašković. He created yet another more radical Serbian Chetnik Movement (SČP). The party was not granted registration. As a result, in March 1991, it was merged with the National Radical Party (NRS) which later became the Serbian Radical Party (SRS).
In 1995, Vojislav Šešelj authored a memorandum in the publication Velika Srbija (Greater Serbia), outlining the Serbianisation of Kosovo.
In 1998, agitations in the Serbian province of Kosovo heightened and Šešelj joined Milošević's national unity government. Šešelj was elected as the deputy president of the Serbian government in 1998.
