About Robert Hardy
Like most actors of his time, Robert Hardy began his career as a stage performer. He rose to prominence in 1956 when he played the title role in the BBC television series titled “David Copperfield”. The English actor is famously known for playing the Cornelius Fudge character in the popular “Harry Potter” franchise. He also played the lead character in the “Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years” series.
Family
He was born to Edith Jocelyn and Henry Harrison Hardy. In 1952, he married Elizabeth Fox and together they had a child called Paul. After their divorce, Hardy tied the knot with Sally Pearson with whom he had two children: Justine Hardy, a journalist; and Emma Hardy, an actress.
Education
Before starting his education at Magdalen College in Oxford, he studied at Rugby School. He was also trained at the British Flying Training School Program.
Honors
He became a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1981.
