About William Saroyan
He was an Armenian-American playwright, story writer and novelist.
Personal Life
When he was born, his father took care of him along with his two siblings but when he was three years old, his father died leaving him and his siblings to grow up in an orphanage. He later went back to his family and his mother. His mother shared some writings his father had put together and that inspired him to start writing too. He married Carol Grace in 1924 and had children with her but in 1949, the marriage fell apart. They married again in 1951 and went their separate ways again about a year later. He was getting addicted to gambling and drinking and this habit is believed to be the reason why his marriage suffered. He worked with fellow writer by name Sanora Babb and developed feelings for her but she did not feel the same way about him.
