About Woody Strode
Woody Strode was a seasoned American decathlete, football player, and successful actor who was widely regarded as one of the NFL's first Black football players in the post-war era.
He was a track standout, a football sensation, and a legendary stage performer during his college years in UCLA. He suffered from racism for a long time before he was later drafted into the NFL by the Los Angeles Rams in the year 1946.
Acting career
He dabbled in professional wrestling as well but rose to prominence mainly for his cinematic appearances, such as gladiator Draba in "Spartacus,". Following this, he went on to provide outstanding performances in a slew of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including "Sergeant Rutledge," "Vigilante," "Once Upon a Time in the West," and "Scipio the African."
Family
He married Tina Strode between 1982 and 1994.
He had two children, Kalai Strode and Junelehua Kalaeloa Strode.
Among his numerous grandchildren are Luukia Kalaeloa Argelander, and Joshua Strode.
